This is the time of year to pull out old skiing highlights while waiting for a proper dump of powder snow. Since I was out with a knee injury last year I can’t wait to get out there this season.
Some friends were going to Revelstoke a couple of seasons ago so I called around to see if there was a spot available for heli-skiing so I could join them. Here’s a compilation from the heli-skiing adventure with Selkirk Tangiers near Revelstoke in BC. Enjoy!
Low cloud cover and poor lighting in the GoPro video didn’t depict how amazing the conditions were in the Selkirks that day. We had around 165cm (5.5feet) of snow fall during a five day stay so no need to say how great the conditions were!

This just looks like WAY too much fun, Inger! Very cool!
It does look like fun! Unfortunately it was my husband having all the fun and not me:) Guess he’s got to get something back for all that snow shovelling! 🙂
Wow, exciting and terrifying at the same time. I’ve never done sky in my whole life 😀
Exciting for sure!! Revelstoke in British Columbia offers some of the best powder skiing I have ever tried. Thanks for reading!
ummmmm….this looked scary to me! Ha, ha, ha…..we are living 2 hours from the Alps and have been for 8 years – – – but have never been skiing! UNTIL THIS YEAR! We took our kids for ski lessons a week ago and they loved it. I can only do the baby slopes. But everyone has to start somewhere right? You have a fun blog.
It’s amazing how fast kids learn skiing! You’re lucky to live only 2 hours from the Alps – such a beautiful mountain range both summer and winter. Good luck with your skiing. The season has just started so you have plenty of time to get the hang of it 🙂
We just returned from visiting our daughter in Switzerland and watched lots of folks skiing in the small town of Bivio. They made it look quite fun … but, at 55, perhaps I’m too old to learn? Although the snow conditions were clearly right in this video your husband shot … it’s too bad he didn’t have a bit of blue sky to brighten things up.
“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty.”
It is never to late! 🙂 And especially not when in beautiful Switzerland!
Yes would have been a much better video had there been some sun! But I think he quite enjoyed the day despite the lack of sun:)
